Station #61 – Pender Harbour


Station61The Pender Harbour Marine Search and Rescue Society was first formed in January of 2000.

Our current vessel is a Titan 30 foot RHIB with cabin, which can attain speeds up to
35 knots an hour. Our crew consists of 22 local volunteers, but we are always looking for more.

Our coverage area includes Malaspina Strait from McNaughton Point to Scotch Fir Point,
and all of Jervis Inlet; including Hotham Sound and Princess Louisa Inlet.
Station 61 was paged out or self tasked 13 times in 2011. (same as 2010) That involved 22.3 boat hours and 80.7 man hours. (18 and 68 last year) 15 persons assisted.

Community events that we participated in this past year: April tools pick up boat, Mayday parade, October fireworks and the Christmas carol ship parade.
