Helping Save Lives on the Water

Where Your Money Goes

It costs over three million dollars to provide marine search and rescue and boating safety services every year in 33 community-based stations throughout B.C. Giving our volunteer rescue crew members everything they need and deserve is costly but can make all the difference to those in peril on the water.

Thanks to the incredible support of people like you, our volunteers answered calls at all hours of the day and night to complete 1,147 missions in the last two years. During those taskings, 813 people were assisted and $34,664,061 in property was protected.

Even more importantly, 222 lives were saved. Between 2017 and 2018, 222 people went home to their loved ones because our volunteers were ready to answer the call. Your donation today will help train and equip our volunteer crews so they’re ready to take that next call and continue saving lives on the water.

Donate to RCMSAR

Your contributions help support our volunteer training and our keep our equipment in excellent condition. Donations are also used for prevention programs that save lives on the water before a rescue is needed.

Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue is a volunteer based organization that operates more than 30 marine rescue stations on the British Columbia coast and in the B.C. Interior. From Vancouver’s busy harbour to the remote waters of the North Coast, our volunteer crews are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, ready to respond to marine emergencies.
