FOR MARINE EMERGENCIES PLEASE CONTACT JOINT RESCUE COORDINATION CENTRE (JRCC) on VHF Channel 16 or CALL 1-800-567-5111, *16 or #727 or Dial 9-1-1

Saving lives on the water can feel deeply rewarding for our volunteers. Then there are days when the weight of our service is a heaviness like no other.

It’s because RCMSAR members can be exposed to traumatic situations while responding to marine emergencies and our first priority is not only their safety but also caring for their mental health. When exposed to traumatic events our volunteers receive Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) support immediately after responding to marine emergencies and as part of our marine SAR training.

That’s why we feel it’s critical to support organizations like the Movember Foundation to ensure our members, both men and women and their families, have access to mental health services when needed. We want to be part of a world where you can take action to be mentally well and be supported by those around you. We hope you can join us this November in support of Men’s mental health.
